Southern Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for the assessment of new wastewater technologies, processes and associated mechanisms worth an estimated c £1.03 million.

Current estimated start and end contract dates are 3 June 2025 to 31 March 2030.
The water company has made a direct award contract for research laboratory services to the University of Portsmouth.
The contract will focus technology trials on the challenges facing small rural sites. A collaborative "Innovation Hub" is being established between the University of Portsmouth and Southern Water at the University Environmental Technology Field Station on land rented from Southern Water at its Petersfield Wastewater Treatment Works.
